A Holiday Greeting from Your City Commissioners

As the calendar turns to December, the air gets crisper, the lights go up, and the smell of pine and gingerbread is everywhere. From all of us here at City Hall, we want to wish you and your loved ones a wonderfully Merry Christmas and the Happiest of Holidays! May your days be filled with cheer, comfort, and perhaps a little too much eggnog.

Now, for a bit of holiday logistics: Everyone dreams of a white Christmas, but here in Bancroft, we like to keep those dreams manageable. Should we be graced with a magical snowfall this winter, please know that our hardworking City Maintenance team will be ready. Snow removal will be officially scheduled only if our winter wonderland gifts us with more than 3 inches of fresh snow. Think of 3 inches as the minimum required height for a proper snow angel—anything less, and the roads are all yours!

Stay warm, stay safe, and have a fantastic holiday season!

Happy Thanksgiving Bancroft Residents

We hope you’re ready to feast and enjoy the cozy start to the holiday season. While we’re grateful for the gorgeous fall colors, those chilly November rains have officially arrived!

Our storm drains are the unsung heroes of the city, working hard to prevent street flooding. But they can’t do it all alone. A thick blanket of leaves and other debris turns a grateful storm drain into a grumpy one.

Please help keep our water flowing smoothly by ensuring your curbs and storm drains are clear of leaves, grass clippings, and other waste. This small effort keeps our streets (and our Maintenance Commissioner!) happy and prevents water from pooling where it shouldn’t.

Let’s keep Bancroft beautiful and dry this holiday season.

Happy Halloween

🎃Attention Residents! 👻
Tonight, the sugar-fueled mini-monsters will be unleashed! Trick-or-Treating is officially set for 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A few friendly neighborly reminders:
• Porch Lights ON! Seriously, if your light is off, we assume you’re out of town and not home to appreciate the adorable costumed chaos. Don’t be “that house.”
• Slow Down! There will be tiny humans (some dressed as tiny superheroes) crossing streets with minimal regard for traffic laws. Drive like you’re transporting a precious cargo of delicate glass pumpkins.
Let’s keep our little corner of the world safe and spooky! Now go get those king-size candy bars ready. 😉
Happy Halloween!

ATTENTION City of Bancroft Residents!

This is a friendly reminder that all residents should have received by mail a copy of the recently passed annual tax and budget ordinances.

Please remember it is your responsibility to ensure your City of Bancroft taxes are paid prior to the due date, even if you feel you did not receive a copy.

For any tax information, you can always contact Clerk Tuthill. Clerk@cityofbancroft.org

We greatly appreciate all our residents’ assistance with this!

Bancroft City Commission Reviews ARPA-Funded Lighting Study

The Bancroft City Commission is currently reviewing a comprehensive lighting study made possible by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. This initiative, aimed at enhancing our city’s lighting infrastructure, has been completed and the commission is now carefully considering the recommendations.

As part of this ongoing effort, the city is already in the process of upgrading our streetlights. Crews will be working to replace the existing bulbs with energy-efficient LEDs, which will provide brighter, more sustainable lighting throughout Bancroft. This upgrade is a crucial first step and will be completed before any further decisions are made based on the study’s findings.
