Happy New Year, Bancroft! January is Glow Up Time!
Grab your coziest blanket and that leftover holiday cheer. The calendar has flipped to January 2026, which means we’re trading twinkling lights for that fresh, clean, New Year, Bancroft vibe. While our friends in Downtown Louisville are still clearing out the holiday crowds, we get to enjoy the peaceful, polished charm that makes our little corner of the East End the best place to be.
What’s Happening in Bancroft This Month?
Your City Hall Connection
The holidays were lovely, but now it’s back to business!
- Need a form or information? Our website is open 24/7! Visit City of Bancroft to handle city business from the comfort of your couch.
Tree Disposal Done Right!
Don’t let your once-magnificent Christmas tree become a fire hazard or an eyesore. Rumpke will only pick up trees 4â or less in trunk diameter. If you have a larger tree and don’t want the hassle of cutting it up and bundling for Rumpke, load it up and head over to our local Christmas Tree Recycling Drop-Off program.
- Where: East District Recycling Center, 595 N. Hubbards Lane
- When: Open Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Crucial Rule: Please ensure all lights, tinsel, ornaments, and stands are completely removed before dropping off. We’re recycling, not decorating a new yard gnome.
Reach Alert, Newsletter, and Facebook Page
Please help us keep everyone in the loop. As soon as you meet a new neighbor, encourage them to email Shannon Tuthill with their preferred email and telephone contact information at Clerk@cityofbancroft.org. This helps promote community involvement, but more importantly, reach alert allows us to contact all residents with urgent news or in the event of an emergency.
 Bancroft’s January Resolution
This year, let’s resolve to make our city even more beautiful. Keep an eye on the city calendar for upcoming council meetings where you can share your bright ideas.
